About the event

It is that time of year. The time to dig, store and divide dahlia tubers. Join us on the farm where we will share how we approach the big dahlia dig. I'll show you our methods of digging and storing, open discussions about options and specific resources available for storage, and we will get out hands dirty as we dig, wash and divide some tubers. With a clump in hand, participants will be able to look for eyes; identify the body, neck and crown; and practice dividing. We will see some different methods for storage, talk about potential pitfalls, and share local resources for storage mediums. While everyone's methods for storage are specific to their locations, humidity, and temperatures, I'll introduce different methods that have been successful or could be successful depending on your conditions. You will also get to meet fellow Dahlia enthusiasts, learn about upcoming opportunities to trade…
